Trazonil is a medication used to treat depression. It influences brain chemicals that may be imbalanced and lead to depressive symptoms.
Trazonil is prescribed to address depression by boosting serotonin levels, a natural chemical in the brain that supports emotional stability. While Trazodone helps manage depression, it does not eradicate it. It may take two weeks or more to experience the full effects of Trazodone. Continue to take Trazodone even if you feel fine. Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medication, as they will likely taper your dose gradually.
Trazonil is available in tablet form for oral administration. It is typically taken with food or a light snack at least two times daily. To ensure you remember to take Trazodone, aim to do so at the same times each day. Pay close attention to the instructions on your prescription label, and reach out to your doctor or pharmacist for clarification on anything you do not understand. Use Trazonil precisely as prescribed; do not adjust the dosage or frequency without guidance from your doctor.
Your doctor may begin your treatment with a low dose of Trazonil, gradually increasing it no more frequently than once every 3 to 4 days. They might lower your dose once your symptoms are managed.
Possible side effects, which may diminish over time, include sleepiness, lightheadedness, dry mouth, headaches, or nausea. If these persist or become troublesome, consult your doctor.
Contact your doctor immediately if you experience lightheadedness, fainting, blood in your urine, shortness of breath, vomiting, an irregular heartbeat, or a prolonged, inappropriate, or painful erection in males. If you observe any other symptoms not mentioned above, reach out to your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
